Spelling Dictionaries for Remote files?
Some experimentation has led me to believe that for locally-opened Filemaker files, the path to the spelling dictionary is stored in each file, i.e. if you select User1.upr dictionary for File1.fp7 and User2.upr for File2.fp7, the dictionary selection is preserved. With both files open, you can switch between them and see the appropriate dictionary in use.
What happens if the file is opened remotely via Filemaker Networking? Obviously, the path to the dictionary on the host will not be valid on a remote machine... which dictionary is used? What if a local and a remote file are opened on the same machine... what happens to the spelling dictionary?
I'm finding that the dictionary on the remote machine gets wiped out occasionally... which obviously is a problem.
I'm using Filemaker (regular and Advanced) 10.0v3 on Mac OS X 10.5 and 10.6.
Thank you for your post.
Guests accessing hosted files will be using the spelling dictionary locally; not remotely.
