I can see everything when I do an ms query in excel, but not in Filemaker
Into a field of what type are you importing this data?
This appears to be time stamp data. Time stamps in FileMaker record the number of seconds from 12/31/000 to the date/time shown in the field. This type of data imported from another source might not be the same arbitrary integer and may need to be adjusted by adding or subtracting a certain constant from this value for each record imported into FileMaker.
So I've tried different field types, but as of now it is left as a timestamp..
It will always show (3/11/2015) no matter what field I choose in Filemaker
Shows 42074.61532 (In Excel)
If that helps at all
Thanks for your help! You're awesome!
What do you get if you specify a text field? A number field?
importing into a NUMBER field gives you "3/11/2015"?
Yes, strange right? I'm quite baffled myself
I would have expected 42074.61532 in either the text or the number field and then we might have been able to work with this.
Pretty strange that I use the same sql command in Filemaker and the other in excel and I get different values
I fixed it!!! (Sorta, more like a workaround)
So I added this to my SQL query (Import records)
to_char(*Table.Column*, 'YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI') AS *New_column_name*
It passes in the whole value as a string and the time shows up, I have the field in Filemaker as a timestamp
Take care Phil!
