I am using file maker pro 13 on a mac and want to know how I can stop the footer printing when I print layouts.

Make a copy of the layout using the duplicate layout menu option while in layout mode. Remove the footer body part. Then switch layout to this layout before printing.

If you don't mind that the footer is part of the printed output as long as it is blank, an alternate approach is to:

               enter Layout mode

select the layout objects in the footer

Go to the Sliding and Visibility section of the Inspector's Position tab and select the "Hide when printing" option.
