I used calc fields to create masking of fields. Social Security Numbers and telephone numbers. I stack the calc field over the input field. I like this technique because I can click-in to the field it is the input unformatted. It makes doing edits and finds easier, because it is on the unformatted.
I started with FORM-View. I have had the results I anticipated and desired. I created a LIST-View by making a copy of the Form and shifting the fields to a row. When I viewed it in LIST-View I did not get the same results. I examined the fields, both have a solid white background. So I am not sure why I seeing both when the records are not the active one.
