Not really. You have to preview or print. I can remember a post made by Mr. Vodka (I think) that used a script to put the data in a text field resulting in a kind of summary report. That could be a bit of work to create.
What I used to do was write scripts that found the desired records, sorted them, entered preview mode and paused. The user could then print the report by selecting print from the file menu if they wished and continuing the script returned the user back to the browse mode friendly layout from which they started.
