Accidentally deleted a table from a relationship but did not delete the table. However the layout now says 'table missing'. Can I remedy this or do I need to remake the layout?
You don't have to rebuild the whole layout but you will have to select the correct table and field for each item on the layout.
OK: Layout mode > R click field > specify field. Great
A lot of fields!!! That will teach me!
Been there done that. PhilModJunk has an auto backup app that you can set the interval times to backup. You can contact him on this forum about a link to the app. I should have it link by now. Several people have needed a backup. You can manually make a backup but most people don't thats why it nice to have an app to do it for you.
And here's the link: Saving Sequential Back Ups During Development
So would you activate script A+B from 1 button and the 'abort' through a second button.
And are the 2 things that need altering to the script the filepath + .fp7 to .fp12 if you are using the latter?
Script A can be set to be performed automatically when the file is first opened via File Options or you can click a button, or you can just select it from the Scripts menu. You do not ever need to perform B directly unless you simply want to immediately save a new copy without waiting for the OnTimer script to do it for you.
The 'abort' script can be performed from a button or the scripts menu as well.
And yes, you'd need to change the file extenstion to .fmp12, NOT .fp12 if you are developing in FileMaker 12.
After 're-connecting' my fields, I belatedly realised the Tabs had also lost their table. How do I re-define Tabs?
Tabs don't use tables or fields. If you are referring to the table your layout uses then Goto File, Manage, Layout, Select Layout, Edit, then show records from is the drop down you select your table.
