I have a time field. I want to be able to type "743" and have 07:43 entered into the field. Similarly "1324" would appear as 13:24. In other words i don't want to have to type the ":"
Is this possible?
Don't use a calculation field, use a time one instead and use the formula in Options, Auto enter, Calculated value (unchecking "Don not replace...").
In this way you can input the time in the same field.
In case you dont use the Advanced FM, use it as a formula in calculated value
I don't have Advanced, so i created a calculated field with brian dunning's formula (brilliant btw, worked well), but the problem is i want the user input corrected IN THE SAME FIELD. O/W i have to have a field for them to enter the time and another field to display it correctly...any further ideas
Thanks for your help
You are awesome Juan. It works perfectly. Thankyou to you and Brian Dunning. I don't suppose you have a similar formula for date (ie I type 6610 and it parses as 06/06/2010?
If you use the 060610 (mmddyy) format could be as simple as
left ( self ; 2 ) & "/" & Middle ( self ; 3 ; 2 ) & "/" & Right ( self ; 2 )
otherwise 11110 could mean 11/01/2010 or 1/11/2010...
Thanks again Juan. Much appreciated.
Hi all,I managed to get the Time mask working correctly, many thanks. However, I'm really struggling with the Date mask.I want to be able to type either of the following:26071226072012
and have FM 12 display it as 26/07/2012 The table field is set to Date and the layout field is a Calender drop-down if that makes any difference?
It would also be good if FM ignored any "/" or "-" characters that the user entered into the field.
