Time series chart
FM 12. How do you create a chart that displays time along the x-axis? When I use a time field on a chart, the data displays as a number, not as time. Is there a way to format it?
It worked for me to use time and the data is formatted in the chart as time. Perhaps you need to describe the options specified for your chart in more detail?
What I just discovered is that the time is not being displaying correctly on a scatter chart. On a line chart, time along the x-axis appears correctly as 6:15 AM, 6:38 AM, 6:42 AM, etc. However, on a scatter chart it appears as a series of numbers: 21000, 23000, 25000, etc. Both charts use the same time field.
What you report sounds like a bug to report over in Report an Issue. If you choose to do that, you can save some typing by posting a link to this thread instead of re-entering all the relevant details.
What I just learned from help is that on scatter and bubble charts the x-axis and y-axis data must be numerical!!! So, they can't be time.
Well they can be time, but they won't label correctly in the chart as time, timestamp and date fields all store numeric values that are then displayed with special formatting--the last part being what is apparently lacking for scatter charts.
