Timestamp format for Microsoft Query (Mac) thru FMP to Microsoft SQL Server 2005
I am trying to retrieve data from a Microsoft SQL Server 2005 database into Microsoft Excel using Microsoft Query on a Mac. There are some timestamp fields in the SQL Database that I need to use as criteria for selection.
I want to select only those records whose datefield is 04/26/2011. I have tried all sorts of combintations #04/26/2011#, '04/26/2011', 04/26/2011, etc., and I keep getting errors that the format for that field is incorrect and I therefore have a syntax error in the SQL query.
Does anyone know what format to use in this case. Again, the database view from the SQL Server 2005 database is shown as a timestamp field.
Is this in a script or manual find?
If in a script, did you try: "04/26/2011"?
You need double quotes for FileMaker to treat the criteria as literal text. Without quotes, you have a division expression, ( 4 divided by 26 divided by 2011) and using # is simply a format FileMaker won't recognize.
