Both FMP 7 and FMP 10 use the same file format. You can simply open the FMP 7 files with FMP 10--no conversion or exporting needed. You'll even find that new files created with FMP 10 still carry the .fp7 file extension.
Thank you for the response. Perhaps my question was unclear. My issue is that I am trying to transfer the information from one computer to another. I don't want to install FileMaker 10 on my old computer and would just like to bring the version 7 databases over to the new machine and am looking for the easiest way to do so.
Simply copy the database files over to your new computer.
USB Flash Drive (must be formatted MSDos Fat16 or Fat32) Disk Utility on the Mac or Manage Storage on Win can check this.
External USB Hard Drive (Must also be formatted MSDos - unless you have MacDrive installed on Windows)
Email the DBs as attachments. Zip them first
Use a large file transfer site on the internet
Network transfer - workgroup name must match, and filesharing need to be turned on.
