You need a summary field in your table that counts any field (eg the primary key or even the status field). Then you need a layout with a sub-summary part based on the status field, with the status field and the count field in the subsummary part. Then sort by status. You can delete the body and just see the subsummary details. Put a trailing grand summary part to see the total.
That really helped - I've done all that now, and on a per record basis I can see that it's status is IP and that it is one of 5 of the total of 60 records. Thank you.
However I want to see all of the different status types totals on the one page?
Is that possible?
Duplicate the layout and then remove the Body part, - "You can delete the body and just see the subsummary details"
And make sure that you are in List View, not Form View.
