Are you trying to set up a short cut to a FileMaker FILE or the application? If a file, is this a file on your computer or hosted from another computer?
To set up a "shortcut" to a hosted file, I often create a small FileMaker File and put it on the desktop. I use a script with Open File to open the hosted file and then use file options to set that script to run automatically when the file is opened.
What I'm trying to do is to create a short cut to a start filemaker database that we are connected to by just pressing a short cut button, instead of starting the program the file/host and type in the user and password, trying to skip the first steps by making a short cut.
Thanks for the help
So I know this isn't what a SnapShot link is meant for, but I use those to go to a Main Menu layout of the database. When you go to a generic layout, then the other things that a SnapShot link is able to do (affect) won't matter as much. However, it is good to know what a SnapShot link can do before using it to avoid unwanted behaviors.
