It's possible, but you'll need to invest some effort in dealing with the fact that different customers can have identical names and the fact that the customer can have more than one form of their name. (I might be referred to as Phil or Phillip, for example.) And customers also change their names. Thus, names can produce a lot of messy issues in databases.
This demo file may have some ideas you can adapt to your own solution. It uses a name to look up a unique ID with a script that handles cases of a single name matching to multiple records:
