Two-Digit Year dates display incorrectly


     I have a calculation for extracting Date of Birth from passport numbers.  The passport format is yymmdd.  My calculation extracts this from its position within the long number and presents it in the format dd/mm/yyyy.  All works perfectly until you get a DoB prior to 1945.  FMP then formats this in the future i.e. 1944 as 2044.

     I understand that it has no way of knowing which century is intended but I cannot figure out why it is this particular cut-off date and would be very grateful if someone can suggest a solution.
