Is there an error message displayed when he tries to create a new record or when he first opens the file?
Did you zip the file?
Are there passwords set up for this file?
No error message, the new record command in the ribbon and the drop down menu is grayed out. No zip. No passwords.
Is the status tool bar visible? Can you make it visible and check for a button marked "continue"?
If he emails a copy back to you, can you modify that copy?
Must have been a random gremlin. I had him re-open the file to take a look at the status bar, and now it is fine.
