Unable To Recover Database
I have a database the keeps crashing on FMP Server 9.0. I upgraded our office computers to FMP 10.0 thinking that it would take care of the problem. In the past, the database would close as "corrupt" and I would be able to re-open the database on the server without any loss of information. This last time, it would not open and I had to use the recovery feature from the client version. I was only able to get through step 6 of 16 before it would freeze. I do not have File Maker Pro Advance and I do not have three weeks to wait for FMP to recover the database. Any suggestions?
Do you have a back up copy you can use?
It's always been "best practice" to replace files with undamaged back up copies. The recover is a useful tool, but there's no guarantee that a recovered file has been fully returned to normal. Nor is there, as you've found out, any guarantee that a damaged file can be recovered.
