    Unused fonts won't go away

      Unused fonts won't go away

Where can I clean out a list of old fonts that perpetually are activated whenever I open a particular file? The file was created years ago, and had many layouts that were subsequently deleted but which used now-obsolete fonts. Every time I open the file, all these fonts are auto-activated by Font Agent Pro, including some which conflict with newer versions I already had installed. Cloning seems to drag along this detritus.

          Thank you for your post.

The layouts, fonts, sorts, scripts, etc., are stored in the file.  When you create a clone, all of that information is saved, including the fonts.

The best way to remove fonts is to create a new file, and then copy and paste the layout information between the two files.
