    Updating data in a table

      Updating data in a table

      Hi all,

I'm new to filemaker, I have filemaker pro 10 (a trial) for the mac.

I am a decently knowledgable user of SQL, but new to filemaker.  I want to do a simple "update" on a one table I have created in filemaker, using data from another table I have already created in filemaker.   There is a unique key which identifies the records in each table which I can use to match records.  How do I do this in Filemaker?

Look up Replace Field Contents--an option found in the Records menu--in Filemaker's help system.

Make a copy of your file first in case you make a mistake here and then try it out. There's a number of different ways you can use this tool to perform such an update.
