Actually i am not getting ur exact problem.
So just consider this solution.
You have 2 Table.Customer and Mailing List Table
In customer you are entering the all data there you just put a button in which you must write the following steps.
1>Copy all the field values by variables those are required.
2>Go to layout(Mailing List Table)
3>New Record request.
here you must set all the variables copied from customer layout into the corresponding fieldsmof the Mailing List Table.
5>commit Record Request.
And if you set the date field to auto-enter the creation date, it will automatically receive your system clock's date each time the script creates your new mailing list record.
I do not need to copy anything more that 1 field. all i need is a script to create a new record in the mailing list and copy and paste the account number into it. the rest of the fields i need in the mailing list will populate them selves as it is a relational database.
I agree, but Atauf's solution still works.
Since you just need to copy the value of 1 field, you only need one variable.
Set variable [$ID ; YourTable::IDField]
Go To layout [mailing List (Mailing List)]
Set Field [MailingList::IDField ; $ID ]
Thanks for the script. It works wonderfully.
