Using a portal to enter data, want to automatically enter some fields

      HI there

I've a data table which consists of something like the following:

      CustomerID | Category | Group | Year | Total

      1010           | AAB       | 123     | 2014 |10100

      1010           | ABC       | 125    | 2014  |15000

There are many customers, categories, years and groups and all are happily sorted and summarised on the table.

Here's the danger - I need to have a user add further data to this table, so to do this, I want to have them only enter data in a certain category, let's say XYZ (that's so I can always tell what's 'proper' and what's user entered) and also, the year field is used in a portal filter, so I need to ensure that they enter it in the same year as the portal they're viewing.  It scares me to give them the option of a year dropdown as the chances are high users will enter things in the wrong year.

So, I've set up a popover with a portal back to the foreign table, enabled creation of records in the relationship and now one can do just that.

What I need it to do is display the category and year on the portal row for the new record being created, but have these ALREADY completed with XYZ and 2014, for example.  All I want the user to enter themselves is the value.

Any ideas please how I might do this?

      Thanks
