      Using AddressBook database

      Post

Hi, I saw that FileMaker Pro has already built in what I need (invoices... ). During the demo video, was shown that for invoicing you can use customer database, where you can run simple CMR. Since I already have almost 1000 contacts in AddressBook on my Mac, can I use or somehow link this database? I dont want to use two databases to keep my accounts in order (AddressBook on my Mac is shared via MobileMe with Contacts on my iPhone and iPad). Regards, Matej

You should be able to import the contact information into the Starter solution file. Be careful to enable auto-enter options when you do so that the newly imported data is automatically given a serial ID number during import or the system may not work correctly with the newly imported data. I don't know if you can import directly from AddressBook or if you will need to export the data into a text file and then import from the text file. (Don't have a mac so can't check this detail.)
