I very much doubt it as the iPad will be running the iPhone software and not the OSX software although FM Touch may work on the iPad.
Yes, FMTouch works with FileMaker 9-11 and with the iPad. The iPad will be great for FileMaker developers as it is about 40% faster than the iPhone and it has quite a bit of screen realestate that will really help.
We'll also be launching and enterprise version on the 17th that will enable FileMaker developers to take their database and instantly convert it into a binary file that can be sold on the iTunes App store.
More information at the FMTouch site and blog.
I have been using a 1995 version of filemakerpro for almost two decades on which I have been running on Windows XP for a number of years. Now after being lured out of my cave with this iPad I am wondering if I will be able to use all the old data bases I have been using for my businesses. Can someone fill me in as to the difference between filemakerpro and bento which I have just learned about? By the way. I still believe that Filemakerpro is the most powerful and useful program I have ever used even if it is a 1995 version.
Thank you for the response.
OK so iPad will not be running filemaker.
I assume that I can import all my data I have in these old versions of fiemakerpro into Bento. Right?
Yes, I believe you can import into Bento.
However, it will depend on your db. Bento is not FileMaker. If you have a simple db, you might be able to.
If I had a choice, I would probably go with FMTouch.
