Hi Bob Schwenkler,
Not sure if this is the best method, but without more info it is hard to tell.
Depending on the version of FileMaker you are using could you use the 'Append to existing PDF' option to add to a single PDF to achieve this?
With regards to you question and using the Insert Picture script step, a couple of things that may be the reason it is not working is the script step requires you to have a 'Go to Field' step before it, and the container field being on the layout the script is running on. And also the file path set in your Variable to export the PDF needs to be amended to start with "image:" instead of "file:" or "filemac:" So you will need to reset the variable, or set another one, before you re-import the PDF as an image, so you could do the following to reset your existing file path variable:
Set Variable [ $FilePath ; Substitute ( $FilePath ; "filemac:" ; "image:" )
Go to Field [ TABLE::Container ]
Insert Picture [ “$FilePath” ]
Give these a try and do ask if anything is unclear.
I am using the Go To Field step prior to Insert Image. It's not that the step is not working, just that using a variable to define part of the file to be inserted is not working, though my syntax may be wrong. I'm definitely not using quotes currently, so that could be it.
I'm in FM9. I'll try these things and get back.
Post your script and maybe I can work out where it is going wrong.
Hey, I ended up just storing the whole file name as a variable and got it working ok. Initially I was trying to use the same syntax as I'm using in the save as PDF step, which goes like: "File" & $$filepath & ".pdf". This is what wasn't working for me.
Glad you got it working.
Thanks for the help!
