      Validation (fields never empty)

      Post

      Hi everyone,

How can I validate fields so that when a New Record is created, the record is reverted if the desired validation of fields are not met. I have some checkboxes and and dropdown lists etc.. I want the values to match a desired Value List and if they don't the record to be reverted (not created).

      Thanks in advance

In Manage | Database | Fields, you can double click a field's definition to open field options. On the validation tab, you can specify both "not empty" and clear the "allow user to override during data entry" check box. Now, leaving that field empty will trigger an error message where the user has two choices: return to the field and correct the error or revert the record.
