Value Lists & Look-ups
Just wondering what is the best approach for me in the following.
I have a 'quotation' table with a portal to a 'Line Item' table. I have an item type field which is a value list pulling from an 'item type' table which has records with the type of services offered. So design, development, printing etc
I have separate fields in a client table which has the price rate per client for each service; so a design rate field, a development rate field, etc.
I was wondering what is the best way to link these so that when an item type is chosen in the quotation it populates the correct rate for that specific client?
IF your client table is linked by client ID to your quotation table, the link is already in place. An auto-enter calculation or looked up value auto-enter field option can copy the rate from the client table into your line item table.
