use the SET VARIABLE script step in you script.
Use the variable in your find step.
yah but only problem because i want a script to do a find, when i do it and try and set the find it just says 'restore' and brings up all the finds i type in, i need each script to do a different specific find? sorry im a little bit noob
Where do you get the criteria for your specific finds?
You may not need variables at all....just copies of your script wih the find/restore requests modified....(they are editable)
basically im setting up the database for someone else and in one table theres the value entered 'x' and in the master table that just needs to bring up all results with an x in it, but i cant seem to get the script to do that, when ever i bring up the perform find etc in the script its all based upon the values that are already in the find section? you can put in the script something like "find group::location = "x" " sorta thing if u get where im comming from
Stored requests cannot be dynamic. You must use a different procedure:
Enter Find Mode
Set Field [ FieldToSearch ; <your criteria here> ]
Perform Find
