I've forgot to specify, o.s. Windows XP SP3 patched, latest HP drivers available.
Google says that he has the same problem, but not the solution:
REALY the only one possible solution is to kept an obsolte print server to serve filemaker users?
A week ago I've open a FileMaker call [case 110223-000066], but all keep silent.
I've run into this same problem with a newer Bizhub on some Mac Minis running 10.6, is the only solution really to use an obselte print driver? My users are noticing huge slowdowns. They'll see the rainbow ball for up to 2 minutes before FM will allow them to move on.
Hello. Has anyone found a solution to this issue? We have about 70 Filemaker users who are being affected by this bug after being moved to a new print server running the Universal Print Drivers.
There is no one in Filemaker that wants to work on this problem?
There seems appropriate technical support that fails to correct a mistake so gross?
Ihave done a little more testing, and this is what I additionally found. If I am printing a page that has only a single record on it, it will print at a rate of about 1 page per second. If I try to print a page with several records such as table view, it will print about 1 page every 7-8 seconds.
I decided to try this against some other versions of Filemaker:
Filemaker 7 : 1 second per page
Filemaker 8 : 36 seconds per page
Filemaker 9 : 10 seconds per page
Filemaker 10 : 10 seconds per page
Filemaker 7 was the only version of Filemaker without this issue. There must have been a change in the printing system that was introduced in Filemaker 8.
The Filemaker Pro.exe process jumps to about 70% and the sppolsv.exe process (windows' print spooler) jumps to about 30% during the printing.
For those of you who are interested, I am discussing this in the "Report Issue" section of the forums. That discussion is available here:
There are a few Filemaker folks responding and having me try things.
