We're gonna need more info than that...we can't see your database and it's functions.
Chances are, clicking the "Shipped" button runs a script. What does that script do? Can you post it here?
If so, please look through the script and note any tables and fields that it references...we're gonna need to know what the tables are and how they relate to each other.
FMP is a platform...someone built a database on that platform customized to your use. We don't have a copy of it, so you'll need to explain it a little bit for us to help.
Does the person who built your dbase still work at your company? If so, they would be your best "first try". If not, we'll walk you through it, but we'll ask a lot of questions along the way to make sure we are giving good info to you.
Enjoy the day!
Could I send you a pdf of the file?
A nice offer, but pdf wouldn't show us the function, only the data...and we're trying to work on function together.
Have you looked at what function (or script) the button performs? Could you describe it to me?
Make a backup
Go to layout mode
click on the button image
go to "button setup" (Right click on a PC, not sure where on a mac)
What function is highlighted?
If the function is "Perform Script", which it probably is, get the name of the script it performs.
From the top menus, select "Scripts" > Scriptmaker > select the proper script name and double-click.
A window will pop up and show you the script...
Could you tell us what that script says? What steps, what syntax...
Then we can get started addressing your concern.
I did some testing to see if what realy happens when I click stamped or DPS complete is when the invetory doesnt remove its self from the Single Units on Hand but it does remove the inventory units from the required box. I'm at a lost it use to work way before I was hired last 3 people have had bad inventory exspriences.
I cant see the pictures you posted. Perhaps we can approach this by this method:
1. What SHOULD clicking the button accomplish (not in Filemaker-ese, but in real life...what numbers should go up/down and where are they, and what else should happen.
2. In the same terms as #1, what is currently happening when you click the button. You've given some details, but not the perspective of the system.
3. If the individual items are being adjusted correctly, but not the amount on hand...how does the amount on hand field get it's value? What is the field type/definition/details?
4. what is the script that runs when you click the button?
Lets see if we can end you up with a better experience than the last three folks... ;)
I'm just making sure your still ready to help I have the whole week to try to fix this thing everyone else is out so no phone calls or custmers bothering me.Let me know
There are many on the board who can help...I'm around sometimes, sometimes not so much...
Post away and let's get your issue solved. Who it is that gives the "Aha" moment is not nearly as important as making sure that it occurs. ;)
