    When to Use Field from Related Table



      When to Use Field from Related Table



           I am a bit confused as to the best way to utilize related tables. In my database, I have two tables:

           1. Companies we purchase from (each sells many products)

           2. Products from these companies.

           The tables are related by CompanyID. So far, I think I'm doing this properly and everything makes sense.

           But...when I'm making the layout for Products, how/why do I determine whether to use the CompanyID field from the Products or Companies table?

           I want users to be able to create new Companies through the Products layout if that makes a difference. (I have "create records via this relationship" checked.)
