Why does this evaluate this way?
Why is the left value evaluating this way?
Verify the data that is in Quote::QTOriginZip, The Result is base on the data that is in the field.
Check how many values has your Quote::QTOriginZip field.
The value in Quote::QTOriginZip is 90001
If it is that, why do you ask to Filemaker to get the first 3 values ?
There is more than 90001 in the value, there are some carriage returns and quotes in the field, which effect the leftvalue results.
I've planned for that... There are only 5
All of the "values" functions, RightValues, MiddleValues, LeftValues, FilterValues, append a return after the last value returned by those functions whether you want it or not whether there is a single value or multiple values being returned--I think a FileMaker Inc programmer got lazy.
That's the return that you see in your Custom Dialog.
Will an auto enter calc trim fix it?
"I've planned for that... There are only 5"
You have planned for 5 chars, not values. So I think that you need to evaluate the chars, not values.
Use the Left ( ) function, instead of LeftValues ( )
