Thank you for your post.
FileMaker Pro 4.0 is a 32-bit application, so it will only run in 32-bit mode.
You may want to consider Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate, since this also gives you a licence of Windows XP
and a modified integration of Microsoft''s Virtual PC. At least this way, if you do have problems you can run it under XP mode.
Of course, you would need to ensure your system met the specifications for this.
Unfortunatly Ive only tried Filemaker 6, 7, 8, 8.5, 9 and 10 and didnt need to use XP mode atall.
So you have tried Filemaker Pro 8 with 64 bit?
I'm running Filemaker Pro 8 and am trying to decide if I need to go Win7 Pro to run the XP emulator or if I can stick with Win7 Home on 64 bit.
As far as I know, FM 8 will not run in true 64-bit mode. How could it? FM 8 is several years old. 32 bit was still, while not a novelty, relatively recent.
I have FileMaker 6 running on a W2000 server and want to replace it with a new server. The new servers ship with 64-bit processors. Will Filemaker 6 run on a 64-bit processor and the 64-bit W2008 server?
