I have been using the check and a box with a check in it from WingDings 2.
A workaround is to use other software to convert the dingbat into a graphic object and use FMP 13's "Hide Object When" property setting to control when it is or isn't visible. You may need to combine the image with the box behind it in a graphic editor to get something workable.

Yes, if you read the thread, you'll find others feel the same. On the plus side, I often like to edit that dingbat in a graphic editor to make it slightly distinct from the original such as taking a pencil icon and making the shaft yellow and the eraser pink....
That's a good way of making your work district from others.
Right now, I don't have the time to work on it.
