    Writing to a .txt file

      Writing to a .txt file

Using Windows and FM Pro 10 Adv., is there a way to record a specific field into a .txt file?

Sure is. It's very easy. Go to FILE > EXPORT RECORDS & follow the prompts. You can pick which field(s) you want to export. If you need to do this on a regular basis, you can create a script to do it for you, link it to a button and have the exported.txt file have a specific name (i.e. 2009-08-24.txt)

msix' suggestion is good if you want to export the same field(s) for all records in your found set, but if you only want to export one field, use the 'Export field contents...' command in the Edit menu (or right-click the field).
