Try creating a brand new simple test file. Can you close and then re-open it without getting the beach ball?
I can't get that deep into it. After loading the App the Open new or existing pops up and the beach balling begins.
Have you tried Re-Installing FileMaker?
(In addition to clearing PRAM--haven't seen reference to that one in many years, another "mac trick" that I recall from the days when I owned a Mac as to try deleting the preferences file for FileMaker...)
Does this happen when you double click directly on an existing file, rather than launching the app by itself?
I just bought a MBP, and have installed FMA13, but haven't used it, but will give it a test run tonight and report back if this isn't resolved.
Do you have Pro or Advanced?
Deleting the plist in the users preferences worked.
Just for added reference of other users I did reinstall the software and the problem persisted. Strangely doubling a file would get it up and running with no issues. It only beach balled when trying to open the application directly. I had seen previous post talking about deleting aliases but I had no aliases on this machine.
