[FMP 6.0] Passwords or user groups in scripts?

      Post

Is it possible to use passwords or user groups in scripts in FMP 6.0?

I have several users logging on to the same DB. There's a main layout which is accessible by everyone and there's a layout for each user group. What I want is for one user to press a button and be automatically directed to the appropriate layout. Something like "IF (password = "group A")... go to layout A", etc.

Anyone savvy on FMP 6.0? I can't really upgrade or anything...

          Howdy Elec,

I think this works in 6.0...i don't have 6 on my current machine, but I seem to recall it in 5.5...I may be mistaken.

          By privilege Set Group:

          If ( Get(PriviliegeSetName) = "user")

               Go to Layout 1

          ElseIf ( Get(PriviliegeSetName) = "superuser")

               Go to Layout 2

          ElseIf ( Get(PriviliegeSetName) = "superduperuser")

               Go to Layout 3

          Else

               Go to Layout 4

Same thing could work using accountnames using the Get(AccountName) function.

Note: avoid using Get(Username) since it is user modifiable thus not secure.
