What email client software are you using? Have you looked up Send Mail in FileMaker 9 help to see if your email software is compatible with FileMaker?
I have Novell Groupwise and I haven't found anything useful in the help section or "the missing manual" I use. The software should be compatible because a co-worker uses it and is able to email pdfs from filemaker without a problem. Also, filemaker is clearly communicating with Novell because when I try to email from filemaker, my email opens a blank email, from me, but with no attachment...
My FileMaker Pro version is 9.0v3
The other people in my office who operate on the same server, with the same email client software, and access to the same databases are able to use the "save/send records as pdf" function without a problem. We have tried uninstalling and reinstalling FileMaker Pro on my computer, to no avail. So far, my IT department is stumped. If anyone has an idea, I'm open to anything.
Thank you for your posts.
I would first try to send an email from FileMaker Pro WITHOUT an attachment. If this works, then something is stopping the email application to attach the file. Take one of your resulting PDF files, launch your email application, create a blank message addressed to yourself, attach the PDF file and send. Does this work?
Do you have any special permissions on your computer for saving files?
If you log into your email account on another machine where it is working for another user, does this work?
Any other information you can provide may be helpful in narrowing down a cause.
