Summary

3G Filemaker Go Glitch when first booting up iPad

Product

FileMaker Go

Version

1.0.3

Operating system version

3.2.2

Description of the issue

A glitch when your iPad is first booted up and has 3G, but has not received any data yet. Go directly to filemaker go and no connection to databases can be made.

Steps to reproduce the problem

Make sure you get 3G. Start with your iPad off, boot it up and do not have it automatically connect to any wifi network. Immediately after it boots up, open filemaker Go and try to connect to your hosted database over 3G. It does not connect or see any databases. Even though you might have 3G, My guess is because Filemaker Go does not think there is a 3G connection because nothing has been loaded yet on 3G,  it will not show anything to you to be able to connect.

Expected result

hard boot the iPad, go directly to filemaker go on 3G and connect to a hosted database.

Actual result

hard Boot the iPad, go directly to filemaker Go on 3G and no hosted database will be available. No host will respond, message says there is no connection

Exact text of any error message(s) that appear

"no files available" - when tapping a host. or "The file "file Name" could not be opened. Either the host is not available, or the file is not available on that host."

Configuration information

iPad iOS 3.2.2 Running Filemaker Go 1.0.3

Workaround

Immediately after your iPad boots up, open SAFARI and load a page over 3G, then close safari, go to filemaker Go and try to connect to your hosted database over 3G. It CONNECTS! No Problem
