After a period of development the "Hide Object When" doesn't retain new setting and Filemaker 14 crashes.
Operating system version
MAC OSX Mavericks 10.9.5
Description of the issue
When using Hide Object, editing the entry doesn't stick, it reverts back to the original entry. the only way to get an object to hide is to edit the entry, copy the new entry, hit save and then paste the new entry in after deleting the old one that has come back again. This is usually followed shortly after by a Filemaker Pro Advanced Crash.
After reopening the file (which is hosted on FMserver 13 connected to remote host on the same network) the symptoms disappear.
Have now hosted on FMServer 14. Same issue.
Steps to reproduce the problem
A prolonged period of development, i.e. 4-6 hrs script writing, layout manipulation and testing coupled with leaving the file open overnight can trigger this behavior when editing "Hide Object When"
Closing Specify Calculation dialog using "OK" should save the new 'Hide Object When' Criteria
Closing Specify Calculation dialog using "OK", the new 'Hide Object When' Criteria disappears after the screen flashes and the focus shifts from the selected object to no object on the layout.
Clicking on the object reveals that the criteria has either, disappeared if there was no criteria before editing or reverts to previous criteria. Shortly after this behaviour exhibits, the system (FM14) will crash while doing some other task.
Exact text of any error message(s) that appear
No Error, FM14 just ceases to exist.
Not a problem with FM13 but not sharing file from FMserver 14 so will try that.
Will upload system information and a file where this occurs although it can be any file.
Edit Hide Object, copy the edits, cancel out of Hide Object, paste revision into Hide Object Text Area. Close down regularly
