Thank you for your post.
Which version of FileMaker Pro are you using?
Does this issue occur with all objects on a layout or only a specific object? If all objects, are you able to move objects on a different layout? If so, are you able to create a new database file and move objects? I'm trying to determine if the issue is with an object, a layout, a file, or the application.
I am using FileMaker Pro 7, and I have updated my computer to Windows 7 Professional, at which time the problem began. I am sure it is because of the new Windows, but I need to know if there is some way to overcome this problem.
This was a problem originally reported back when Windows 7, an OS produced long after the release of FileMaker 7, was released. The solution is to upgrade to a newer version of FileMaker.
How much to upgrade to newest version of FileMaker? and how easy will it be to transfer my documents? one is particularly large and VERY important - we cannot lose this document!
You should be able to simply launch the new version of FileMaker and use Open from the File menu to open a local copy of your file. FileMaker will then convert the file for you to the new file format.
As to cost, I suggest that you visit the FileMaker Store fro the Purchase menu at the top of this screen.
You can also download a 30 day free trial copy to "test drive" and to use to convert a copy of your file to see if that takes place as smoothly as I am predicting.
