Thank you for your post.
Our Development and Testing departments are aware of this issue. Currently, FileMaker Pro stores date information as a number. If the date separator is the same as the decimal separator, then the English format date separator is used.
I have attached your post to the original report so if this changes, I can notify you.
One workaround is to create an additional calculation field for display purposes only. Use the formula:
Day ( Date field ) & "." & Month ( Date field ) & "." & Year ( Date field )
I would assume that this is true for Windows systems as well as macs?
thanks for asking the developers and for the workaround.
* by clicking into the field and the display (commit)
exist on FMP(A) 11.04 on Mac too, and
- with Scr 'insert date
- with Scr 'setField: Get(CurrentDate)
Windows7 // FMPA11 work been <German (Switzerland)>
Windows7 // FMPA12 : i wait for the SW-package this week (not installed)
The original report was logged against Mac OS X 10.5 and 10.6. No mention of Windows.
Which would seem to indicate that we don't know for sure...
