Can't export files with the .txt extension

    DouglasFry

      Summary

Can't export files with the .txt extension

      Product

      FileMaker Pro

      Version

      12.02

      Operating system version

Mac OS X Lion and Mountain Lion

      Description of the issue

When Exporting anything from the new version of FM Pro you cannot use the .txt extension. While this seems like a little thing it is a huge problem for us. We import from FMP into Adobe Creative Suite. CS does not "see" a file with the .tab extension.
Try it. Try to export a file as a .txt file. All previous versions of FM have had that ability. From FileMaker back in the late 80s to the last version had that ability. Now it's gone?
      Am I missing something?
      Thanks,
      Douglas

      Steps to reproduce the problem

Go to File and then to Export. Try to export any type of file and use a .txt extension. It will always append the .csv, .tab, or whatever it wants to the file name.

      Expected result

One should be able to export a File.txt but it always results in File.txt.tab

      Actual result

      File.tab, File.csv, etc.

Exact text of any error message(s) that appear

No error message. Just the inability to save or export a file as a .txt file

      Configuration information

      Mac OS X

      Workaround

After exporting the file go to the finder and rename the File.tab to become File.txt. Nothing but the name has changed but it works properly.
