      FileMaker Product(s) involved:FileMaker Pro 8.5, 9, 10Operating System(s) involved:Mac 10.5.5Detailed description of the issue:Can't find all instances of commas in text field.  If comma is followed by another character besides a space, no search criteria can locate it. Exact steps to reproduce the issue:1.  Create a database2.  Define a text field (name: f1Eng, storage: English indexing)3. Define a calculation field (name = f1Uni, text result, formula = f1Eng, storage = Unicode indexing)4.  Create two records with values in f1Eng:0,0 (zero comma zero)0, 0 (zero comma space zero)5. Enter Find mode, type a comma in either field with any combination of @ * = "" modifier symbols, perform FindExpected Result:both records should be returnedActual Result:only the second record is returnedWorkaround:Calculated another field with formula: PatternCount(f1Eng;",")

          Thank you for your post.

           

          I can definitely duplicate the problem, and I have sent the information to our Development and Software Quality Assurance (Testing) departments for review.

           

          In the mean time, your workaround is good, even if it introduces an additional field.

            Here is the latest information from our Testers:

             

            The data "0, 0" on second record will be word indexed as "0" and "0".  Using the @ will search for one character word index.  Therefore, the customer must use a different combination of search operators.  In the customer's example, there would need to be two requests.  *,* and ,
