Summary

Container field filled with interactive PDF does not size properly. Both "automatically resize" and "actual size" are checked in the drop down menu

Product

FileMaker Pro

Version

12.05

Operating system version

OSX 10.9 Mavericks

Description of the issue

A container field formatted to accept "interactive content" (PDF, MP3, etc) does not properly resize a PDF to fit the container. Right clicking on the container shows that both "automatically resize" and "actual size" are checked at the same time. Selecting "zoom in" or "zoom out" will remove those check boxes and allow "automatically resize" to be selected. However, upon closing and reopening the file returns the container to the previous incorrect state.

Steps to reproduce the problem

This is a known issue at Filemaker. Their support department easily and quickly replicated the problem and suggested I try it with Filemaker 13. Downloading and installing a trial of Filemaker 13 did not resolve the issue. Filemaker support group says they can't guarantee a fix which I find extraordinarily frustrating as this "interactive container" was promoted heavily when they were marketing Filemaker Pro version 12. Plus, their own developer notes indicate that v. 12 needs to be updated to v. 12.05 in order to be compatible with OSX Mavericks. Not sure how they can release such a product and not offer a solution to this problem. Any suggestions?
