Converting older files when trials have expired

Converting older files when trials have expired

      FileMaker Pro

      Filemaker Pro 6 Trial

      Operating system version

      Windows 7 x64

      Description of the issue

We are told that to convert fmp5 files to download Filemaker Pro 6 Trial. I did that and it worked great. Now I need to do it again (new user files) and I get "Trial Expired."
Am I supposed to buy three versions of Filemaker just because I have received more old files from my user?

      Steps to reproduce the problem

      Expected result

I need to use Filemaker Pro 6 to convert files.

      Actual result

      Trial has expired

               Steve Baker:

               Thank you for the post.

FileMaker files already in the .fp5 extension can be opened and converted directly with any version of FileMaker Pro 7 through FileMaker Pro 11. The FileMaker Pro 6 Trial should not be required. The FileMaker Pro 11 Trial can be located here:

If your FileMaker Pro 11 Trial is already expired on that computer, then you can use another computer. If you do not have another computer to use, and you are located in the U.S. or Canada, then contact technical support toll free at 1-800-325-2747. The hours are between 7 AM - 5 PM PDT.
