      Summary

Crash in layout mode - windows

      Product

      FileMaker Pro

      Version

      FMPA 12v2

      Operating system version

      Win XP Pro SP3

      Description of the issue

Dividers in the Layout list appear to cause crashing.

Scratch built solution in FMPA 12. No elements from previous versions.

In layout mode, using the "binder" at the upper left to scroll through the layouts - when I scroll to the "Divider" layout, FMPA crashes. More so when scrolling forward from the end of the layout list.

      Steps to reproduce the problem

In layout mode, scroll forward per above.

      Expected result

      Crash.

Exact text of any error message(s) that appear

FMPA quits with the typical "Inform Microsoft" dialog.

      Workaround

Delete dividers from the layout list.

Has this occurred in just this one file or can you reproduce this in other files?

A crash that only occurs in a particular file may mean that the file is damaged. (And the crashes themselves can damage your file--so cause and effect can be difficult to determine here.)

It's possible the file became corrupted. It's only a month old. Each time it crashed I reverted to a good backup.

I deleted the layout separators and created new ones. I can now scroll back and forth past the separators without crashing the file.

One of the separators must have become corrupted as layouts or layout elements sometimes do. it wasn't through crashing, though.

Seems like a pretty new file to be corrupted.
