    Current Date issue with Go

    robyne

      Summary

      Current Date issue with Go

      Product

      FileMaker Go

      Version

      12.0.8

      Operating system version

      FM 12 & FM server 12

      Description of the issue

Current Date periodically comes up with 1980 rather than 2014 (for example, if the Current Date reads 1/17/2014, it resets to 1/17/1980). I am not sure if this is a FM issue or iPad issue.  So, where does Current Date pull from (I thought it was from the FM Server) in Go?  Is it from the iPad?  FM Server?

      Steps to reproduce the problem

I cannot reproduce it.  Happens sporadically.

      Workaround

Only way to reset it is to close out of the datatbase on the iPad, shut down the iPad and then turn it back on and sign back into Go.

               Thank you for your post.

Get (CurrentDate) uses the current date of the client machine; not FileMaker Server..  With FileMaker Go, this would be the iOS device (iPad in your case).  For some unbeknownst reason, FileMaker Go is seeing the current year as 1980.  I know the issue is sporadic, so the next time this occurs, write down all applications open at the time, and the length of time since the iPad was last rebooted.  This may help narrow the possible causes.
