Just occurred again, with a different client, different server. This server is Windows 2003 R2 SP2, dual core, 4 GB RAM, also running FMS 188.8.131.525. Generally about 30 users logged in, this time there were 98, with many multiples. Database unresponsive after login.

Same basic database design or completely different?
Same basic database design. Different contents, but same design.
Users have FMP clients that may range from 12.0.1x to 12.0.4x; not sure if that has any bearing.
Happened in past with FMS 11, but nowhere near as frequently.
Slow layout refresh issues were one of the issues improved by the bug fix updates. The updates are free, so I would update all client apps to the latest release for each client machine to rule out that issue as a possible factor.
