      Summary

Display date values in Scatter Chart

      Product

      FileMaker Pro

      Version

      12 (pre Release)

      Operating system version

      osx at least

      Description of the issue

Create a Scatter chart, x values are Date field( or TimeStamp), y values are numbers.
Based on Related Data (sorted, summary or individ data)
Axis Options, set X axis to be data type of Date (or Timestamp)

Hover over data point in Browse mode, to see X and Y values.
      Y value shows formatted correctly.
X value (the date or timestamp) does not display if the Format is 12/01/12 or 12/12/2012 or as entered.  The month appears to be right, the date is (usually) 1 and the year is (usually) 01 or 0001

      Steps to reproduce the problem

IF change the format to a type that contains text (i.e. Jan. etc)

      Expected result

the X value should display as formatted when hover over a data point.

      example
      X Value: 3/23/11
      Y Value: 4,000

      Actual result

      Y value shows formatted correctly.
X value (the date or timestamp) does not display if the Format is 12/01/12 or 12/12/2012 or as entered.  The month appears to be right, the date is (usually) 1 and the year is (usually) 01 or 0001

      Example
      X Value: 3/1/01
      Y Value: 4,000

Note in the screen shot the tool tip says 2/1/01, the point I am overing over is 2/13!

Exact text of any error message(s) that appear

Note in the screen shot the tool tip says 2/1/01, the point I am overing over is 2/13!

          Jerry -

          Thank you for your message.

I was able to reproduce the issue you reported using the shipping version of FileMaker Pro 12.  I will forward this report to our Quality Assurance and Development teams for further investigation.

As a workaround, you can adjust the "Format" for the Date within the chart inspector to other date formats.  Doing so appears to format better and show up better when hovered over in Browse mode.
