Windows or Mac?
Assuming this is windows and that this is the shortcut for the program--not an fmp file, right-click the short cut and select Properties. What do you see in the Target field?
You should see something similar to : "C:\Program Files\FileMaker\FileMaker Pro 10 Advanced\FileMaker Pro Advanced.exe"
If it doesn't, delete the shortcut and open your program files folder (probably on the C: drive like mine), find the filemaker pro ".exe" file, right-click it and drag from that window to your desk top. In the menu that pops up when you release the mouse button, select Create Shortcuts Here.
Sorry for not providing that information. I am using an iMac with the latest system 10.x SnowLeopard.
Also, the problem began after upgrading to that new system.
Thank you for your post.
Although I did not encounter any problems updating a machine to Snow Leopard, I have seen reports from a couple of other users. One user found success by uninstalling and reinstalling FileMaker Pro. Another user had upgraded from Leopard, and ended up reinstalling the entire Snow Leopard OS from scratch, and then FileMaker Pro worked.
I am keeping watch on Snow Leopard issues, so please let me know if you find a solution.
Thanks for the help - I will try your solutions.
I will try to geet to you if I find another SnowLeopard issue(s).
