Summary

Dragging image from Safari to container field copies URL, not image

Product

FileMaker Pro

Version

12.0v1

Operating system version

Mac OS 10.6.8

Description of the issue

When I drag-and-drop an image directly from a web page into a FileMaker Pro 12 container field, the image's URL is copied into the container field, rather than the image itself.

I had this same problem with FileMaker 11.

I can produce this on two different machines, each running Mac OS 10.6.8 and Safari 5.1.1.

Steps to reproduce the problem

1. Create a container field.
2. Open a web browser to a page with an image on it.
3. Drag the image to the container field.

Expected result

The container field should now contain the image, just as if I had dragged that image from my desktop (which does work).

Actual result

The container contains the URL of the image, rather than the image.

Workaround

First saving the image to the desktop, and then dragging-and-dropping from the desktop, or performing Insert Image on the container field.
